Insignificantly Found
In Insignificantly Found, Thai artist Wuthipol Ujathammarat fashioned a series of semi-abstract photographs from his expedition to Shanghai in a work that ostensibly inspired by simplistic palettes of urban mundane. It documents an eerie and yet nostalgic insignificant wonders of the metropolitan where the glowing details of banal are vividly populated by sudden artistic situations.
Through exercising in visual compositions and colour explorations, the artist is obsessively concerned with the banal and the sublime aesthetics of urban obscures and their abstract visual beauty. His visual awareness creatively unveils a new context to the otherwise average urban details that curiously trigger graphical interactions between colours and textures. Inspired by visual rhythms and tonal complexity, it exposes various artistic pockets of urban palettes that amplify the city of Shanghai with a vibrant aesthetic order insignificantly found within.
