The Peeking Cloud
The Peeking Cloud unveils a metaphorical visual series of the ever-changing cloud formation that floats suddenly beyond a vibrant urban structure, and creates an isolated symmetrical composition. Upon a complete coincidence, each photograph is a natural performance of an unpredictable moment that merely lasts in seconds. The forming nature of the clouds are never identical; each formation is significantly unique and happens only once. This is an honest reflection on a Japanese philosophy, Ichigo Ichie (一期一会), that expresses a cultural concept of embracing the unrepeatable moment of time.
Clouds are the ruler of the sky; expressing the unknowable that spiritually conveys interpretive meanings and emotions. They are harmonious to a natural scenery and a visual soothe to a harsh urban landscape. The peeking aspect of the clouds in the background fashions a visual rhyme of which the colours, urban textures and formations are superbly lined up. It is a metaphorical reminder to cherish every moment in life, because these moments cannot be repeated in the same way ever again.
These encounters with the isolated cloud formation beyond a dazzling urban structure happened swiftly by chance—by being at the right place and time.
