Repeat Repeats

It displays an innovative approach that allows the photographs, within its repetition series, to exhibit themselves with an endless possibility. These are fascinating and rare scenes of Bangkok, among the city chaos, where things are seen as graphically minimal. As a graphic designer who loves to documenting life through photography, my eyes are always drawn to shapes and patterns that visually portray an ongoing and endless story. This handcrafted photobook uses a continuous parallel folding, also known as concertina fold, to merge the meaning of each photograph and collectively create an endless journey.

‘รีพีท รีพีทส์’ เป็นหนังสือภาพทำมือที่รวบรวมชุดภาพถ่ายที่มีองค์ประกอบซ้ำๆ ถ่ายทอดเรื่องราวออกมาแบบไม่มีที่สิ้นสุด ภาพถ่ายเหล่านี่ล้วนเป็นภาพที่ถูกถ่ายท่ามกลางความวุ่นวายของเมืองกรุงเทพ ซึ่งมีความน่าหลงใหลในแบบซ้ำไปซ้ำมาและหาชมได้เกือบทุกที่ ถ้าสังเกตดี ๆ ในฐานะที่ผมเป็นนักออกแบบกราฟฟิกที่รักการบันทึกเรื่องราวชีวิตผ่านภาพถ่าย สายตาของผมมักจะจับจ้องไปที่สีสันและรูปทรง หรือ Pattern ที่พรรณนาถึงเรื่องราวต่างๆ หนังสือทำมือเล่มนี้ ใช้วิธีการเข้าเล่มด้วยการพับหลายตลบ หรือที่เรียกกันว่า Concertina Fold เพื่อผสมผสานความหมายและเรื่องราวของแต่ละภาพเข้าไว้ด้วยกัน และเพื่อปรุงแต่งเรื่องราวแบบไม่มีที่สิ้นสุด
