VIRTUAL ZINE
PROJECT 2020

Tracking From A Distant
‘Tracking From A Distant’ is a visual documentation that displays a series of postal receipts, obtained from the sales of my photography books and zines made before, during and after the 2020 pandemic in Bangkok, Thailand.
The cancellations of physical art book and zine fairs, due to the outbreak of coronavirus in Asia and beyond, forced me to adapt and alter my marketing and distribution channels—this only means operating from home, virtually. Instead of repeatedly promoting my existing photobooks and zines, I decided to invest my time and energy in making a brand new collection of work; some of which had already been in the works since 2019.
I knew it was a risky investment to eagerly proceed with these new zines without any physical art book fairs to show and tell—you have got to spend money to make money, right? Well yes, surprisingly. It turned out to be a great return on investment. This new collection work unexpectedly managed to generate a great deal of sales alongside my existing photobooks and zines—what an overwhelming result.
I am grateful to have such loyal customers, together with new buyers and many independent bookstores, who supported me mentally and financially during this tough year. Thank you.
